On February 1, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, executive chairman of China International Cultural Communication Center Long Yuxiang welcomed the visit of Dato Liu Shixian, chairman of Malaysia International Economic Exchange Association, the two sides agreed to further strengthen friendly cooperation between China International Cultural Communication Center and Malaysia, push forward China-Malaysia all-round friendly cooperation to a new level.
Long Yuxiang welcomed Dato Liu Shixian’s visit, said that China and Malaysia are close neighbors across the sea. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 42 years ago, bilateral relations have been stable, and the two sides have maintained mutual respect and trust, and upheld the principle of equality, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. In November 2016, the Malaysian Prime Minister paid visit to China, President Xi stressed that "the Chinese side welcomes Malaysian actively involved in the “The Belt and Road” cooperation and would like to jointly promote the construction of Maritime Silk Road in the 21st century, deepening the cooperation in infrastructure, energy, science and technology, agriculture, finance and other areas. Malaysia is an important node of the maritime silk road, and cooperation with China under the “The Belt and Road" framework will be very promising. China International Cultural Communication Center hope to strengthen the communication with Malaysian International Economic Exchanges Association, deepen People-to-people communication, plan to hold in Malaysia large painting and calligraphy art exhibition and huge theatrical performances, in order to lay a solid foundation for promoting the cooperation in the fields like education, arts, sports, economic and trade.
Dato Liu Shixian thanked Chairman Long Yuxiang for his warm reception, he said that Malaysia and China are friendly neighbors and trustworthy friends. Since Prime minister Najib's visit to China, the bilateral cooperation and exchanges have been flourished. We are very happy to see the positive results of China's "The Belt and Road" construction. Malaysia International Economic Exchanges Association is deeply admire the contribution that has been made by China International Cultural Communication Center in the field of international cultural exchange, hoped that both sides can deepen cooperation and communication, and jointly promote the comprehensive cooperation between Malaysia and China to the new stage, and make greater contributions for the two peoples in the traditional friendship.
